Hi there, Kelly here, taking on First Lines Fridays this week and I can’t resist the beauty of sharing this brilliant read! Its a favorite of mine, I bet you might know it, but maybe not!

About:

Each week we will pick a YA or NA book from our shelves and copy the first line, in an attempt to acquaint you with some new reads or reintroduce you to old favorites. We will have an accompanying Instagram pic to go along with our choices each week so check out #firstlinesfridays!

First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines? If you want to join the meme be sure to check out Wandering Words, and here are her rules below.

The rules:

  • Pick a book off your shelf (or your current read) and open to the first page.
  • Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first.
  • Finally…reveal the book!

Here is the first line. Check out our instagram too!

The forest had become a labyrinth of snow and ice.

I know, I know…you all have read this book and are in absolutely love with this series just like we are, but damn it, there is a copy sitting on my desk and I couldn’t help just paging through it and reading some of my favorite passages. So of course I choose it for my day to run FLF! If you haven’t read this series both book 1 & 2 are available now & let me just say they are extremely recommended, and prepare yourself for your newest obsession!

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.
